Office Mone & business passkey problem

Office Home & Business 2021 is a one-time purchase (perpetual license), not a subscription. If Office shows a message that a subscription is expired, it is typically either:

1. Office is signed in with the wrong account (for example, a Microsoft 365 subscription account that has actually expired), or
2. The product key used to redeem/activate Office has been blocked or is no longer valid.

Follow these steps:

1. Confirm the correct account and license
   • Go to the Subscriptions page at https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account that was used to redeem Office Home & Business 2021.
   • Verify that the Office product is listed and active under that account.
   • If it is not listed, Office may have been redeemed under a different Microsoft account; try other personal email addresses.
2. Make sure Office is activated with the correct account
   • Open an Office app (such as Word).
   • Go to File > Account.
   • Check which account is shown under User Information.
   • If it shows an account tied to an expired Microsoft 365 subscription, sign out there, then sign in with the Microsoft account that owns Office Home & Business 2021.
   • If necessary, use Update license (or similar) on that page to refresh activation.
3. If the product key is reported as invalid or blocked
   • If a message appears such as “This product cannot be activated because the product key is not valid” or error 0xC004C060, the key has been blocked and will no longer work.
   • In that case, contact the seller and request a refund. Keys that stop working are often stolen or fraudulently obtained and then blocked.
   • If a refund is not possible and Office is still needed, purchase a new, genuine license or Microsoft 365 subscription directly from Microsoft.

If none of the above resolves the issue and the key should be valid (for example, it was purchased with a new device), contact Microsoft Support with proof of purchase for further assistance.
