Worst approach to solving customer issue ever!

Good morning!

I have found no resolve to this issue in almost 2 months; I am looking to escalate this to get it resolved immediately. If you are not the proper contact, please forward to someone that can properly assist in immediate resolution. I am writing to formally escalate an ongoing billing and customer service issue that has still not been resolved despite multiple conversations with Microsoft support dating back to April 11th, 2026.

At this point, this situation has become completely unacceptable. I have spent nearly two months attempting to resolve incorrect billing, unauthorized recurring charges, and a delayed refund that Microsoft representatives assured me had already been processed.

Here are the facts clearly:

  • I was informed over 14 business days ago that my refund of approximately $153 had been processed and that it would take 3–10 business days to appear.
  • As of today, Monday marks business day 15, which means we are now 5 business days beyond the maximum timeline I was given.
  • I still have not received the refund.
  • I was also assured that six unnecessary accounts/services would be canceled and that I would no longer be billed for them.
  • Despite those assurances, Microsoft continues billing me for accounts I explicitly stated I did not authorize or want active.

To be very clear:

I only require TWO active accounts, totaling approximately $51 per month.

I do NOT authorize charges for the additional accounts that were supposed to be canceled. The current balances being reflected on my account are inflated due to Microsoft continuing to bill me for services I repeatedly requested be removed.

Additionally, I continue receiving warnings and threats regarding account suspension over balances that should not exist in the first place due to Microsoft’s own billing errors and failure to process cancellations correctly.

At this point, I no longer trust the timelines or assurances being provided by customer support because the information given to me repeatedly has proven inaccurate.

I am formally requesting the following IMMEDIATELY:

  1. Immediate escalation of this case to a supervisor, billing specialist, or corporate escalation team.
  2. Confirmation and completion of the $153 refund that was promised.
  3. Removal of ALL unauthorized/canceled account charges immediately.
  4. Correction of my account balance to reflect ONLY the two authorized active accounts.
  5. Written confirmation that the canceled accounts will no longer be billed moving forward.
  6. Compensation and/or account credits for the months of April and May due to the excessive delays, billing errors, stress, and ongoing inconvenience caused by Microsoft’s failure to resolve this issue in a timely manner.

I should not still be dealing with the same unresolved issue nearly two months later. The inability to directly reach support by phone unless called, combined with repeated misinformation and continued billing errors, has made this experience extremely frustrating and unacceptable.

If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will be escalating this issue further through corporate channels and additional consumer complaint avenues as necessary.

I expect an urgent response and resolution.Good morning!

Billing disputes, missing refunds, and unwanted recurring Microsoft 365 or account charges cannot be fixed from the forum or by tools described in the context; they must be handled directly by Microsoft billing/support so the account, subscriptions, and refund status can be accessed and corrected.

Based on the issue description (incorrect/unauthorized recurring charges, missing refund after promised processing, and needing escalation), the next actionable steps are:

    1. Open or re-open a billing support request and escalate
Use the dedicated Microsoft account and billing support entry point so a billing specialist can review all charges, cancellations, and the refund status:
      • Go to Account & Billing Help: Account & Billing Help.
      • Or go to More help with payments & billing from the OneDrive billing article, which routes to the same billing support flow: More help with payments & billing.
      • When prompted, clearly state that this is an existing, unresolved billing dispute involving:
        • A missing refund of about $153 promised more than 10 business days ago.
        • Ongoing charges for subscriptions/accounts that were supposed to be canceled.
        • A request for escalation to a supervisor or billing escalation team.
If this is for a business/tenant where there is an admin, the admin can also open a ticket via the Microsoft 365 admin center as shown in the similar Q&A for duplicate charges.
    2. Use the “Contact Microsoft Support” flow if needed
If the above entry point does not give a clear billing path, use the generic support entry and choose billing:
      • Go to Contact Microsoft Support: Contact Microsoft Support.
      • Enter a short description such as “Microsoft 365 billing dispute – missing refund and unauthorized recurring charges; need escalation.”
      • Select Get Help, then if self-help does not resolve it, choose Contact Support to reach an agent.
      • Request that the case be escalated and ask for written confirmation of:
        • The refund status (including transaction ID and date processed).
        • Which subscriptions are active vs. canceled.
        • The corrected balance reflecting only the two authorized accounts.
    3. Prepare information before contacting support
To speed escalation and resolution, have ready (similar to the billing guidance in Partner Center):
      • Microsoft account email(s) involved.
      • Subscription names/IDs for all accounts that should remain active (the two you authorize) and those that should be canceled.
      • Dates and amounts of all disputed charges and the promised $153 refund.
      • Any prior support case numbers and correspondence where cancellation and refund were promised.
    4. If the charges relate to OneDrive/Microsoft 365 storage or subscriptions
For subscription cancellations and refunds, follow the documented cancellation flow and then work with support if the refund still does not appear:
      • Sign in and follow the cancellation steps under Microsoft 365 in the refund article: How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
      • After confirming which subscriptions are canceled, use Contact Support from that same article if the refund is still missing or if you are still being billed for canceled services.
    5. If you are in India and want to escalate further
For residents of India, there is an additional escalation path via the Grievance Officer for products like Microsoft Store, Outlook.com, OneDrive, Xbox, Microsoft Advertising, and general privacy concerns. The article lists the Grievance Officer details and product-specific complaint links: Complaint redressal mechanisms for India.
    6. If you suspect fraud or unauthorized use
If any of the recurring charges are truly unauthorized (for example, created without consent or by someone else using the account or payment method), use the billing support path above and also review:
    7. What to explicitly request from the billing agent
During the call/chat/email with billing support, explicitly request:
      • Verification of whether the $153 refund was actually processed (date, method, and reference).
      • Manual correction of charges for all subscriptions that should have been canceled, with backdated credits where applicable.
      • Closure of all unwanted subscriptions and written confirmation that only the two authorized accounts remain active and billable.
      • Review for service credits or compensation for the extended delay and repeated errors (this is at Microsoft’s discretion, but the request can be made).

Only Microsoft’s billing/support teams with access to the account can execute the refund, cancel extra subscriptions, correct balances, and apply any credits. Using the official billing support and escalation paths above is required to resolve the issue.
