Contact a live chat or support button on the exam platform's website.

Take a photo or screenshot of the "Wait, exam will resume shortly" message

Note the exact time your laptop shut down and when you reconnected

Keep a record of your session ID or exam ID if visible

For an online Microsoft Certification exam that was interrupted by a laptop shutdown, the next steps depend on when and how the issue occurred:

    1. Since the issue happened during the online proctored exam and the exam is stuck on “Wait exam resume shortly,” use Pearson OnVUE Support live chat to contact Pearson VUE immediately. This is the channel for technical issues during the exam session.
    2. If the exam session has ended and cannot be resumed, Pearson VUE may create a case documenting the interruption (for example, due to equipment failure or connectivity issues).
    3. If the exam is marked as delivered but not completed/passed, and a Pearson VUE case was created for the interruption, it is possible to request a waiver of the retake waiting period:
      • Go to Training, Certification, and Program Support and submit a request, including the Pearson VUE case number, as required in the retake policy.
    4. If the exam shows as delivered successfully but there are issues with results or access after the exam, contact Microsoft Certification / Credentials support for help with exam records and results.

For any rescheduling or exam-delivery issues (such as needing a new appointment after the failed session), Pearson VUE customer support is the primary contact.
