Hello, I can log into outlook and see emails but I can't create a new email without a subscription but I renewed my subscription yesterday (twice) and downloaded everything I needed but it still says I need to renew my subscription. I'm on a deadline. Please help!

Follow these steps to get Outlook working again with the renewed subscription:

    1. Verify the subscription is actually active
      1. Close Outlook and any other Office apps.
      2. Go to the Microsoft account Subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services/
      3. Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy/renew Microsoft 365.
      4. Under the Microsoft 365 heading, confirm the status:
        • If it shows an expiration date in the future or “Has recurring billing,” the subscription is active.
        • If it shows as expired or suspended, follow the on‑screen steps to renew again.
    2. Make sure the correct account is used in Outlook
      1. Reopen Outlook.
      2. Go to File > Account.
      3. Check the user shown under “User Information” or “Product Information.”
      4. If this is not the same Microsoft account that shows the active subscription on the Subscriptions page, sign out and sign in with the correct account.
      5. In the same Account page, select the option to update or refresh the license (for example, “Update license” or “Sign in” again) so Outlook picks up the renewed subscription.
    3. Restart Office apps
      • After confirming the subscription is active and the correct account is signed in, close Outlook and any other Office apps completely, then open Outlook again and test creating a new email.
    4. If the message still appears
      • If Outlook continues to show “renew your subscription” or similar messages even though the subscription is active and the correct account is signed in, contact Microsoft Support for subscription and activation help. Use the support options under Account & Billing or Microsoft 365 support while signed in with the account that owns the subscription.

While troubleshooting, Outlook on the web can be used in a browser to send mail so work can continue while the desktop app is being fixed.
