Use the Microsoft account sign-in tools to stabilize the password and sign-in, then re-add the account on the Xbox.

    1. First, confirm the Microsoft account password is working and not being reset or blocked:
      • Go to the Sign-in Helper: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2214157
      • Sign in with the same email/phone used on the Xbox.
      • If the tool detects an issue, follow the steps it gives (for example, security checks or unlocking the account).
    2. If the account password keeps failing or the username/password “stops working,” reset it properly and verify the account:
      • Use Recover your account: https://account.live.com/password/reset (from the “My username and password have stopped working” article).
      • Follow the full flow: choose where to get the security code, enter the code, and set a new password.
      • Make sure the correct email domain is used (for example, outlook.com vs outlook.co.uk) and that the email name is typed exactly right.
    3. If the account is getting locked or recovery keeps failing:
      • Review the guidance for the recovery form and try again up to two times per day: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2247928 (see “Account recovery unsuccessful”).
      • If the recovery form is not usable because the security info is unfamiliar, use the Sign-In Helper link in that article instead.
    4. After confirming the Microsoft account works reliably in a browser, remove and re-add it on the Xbox One:
      • On the console, remove the profile.
      • Restart the console.
      • Add the account again using the same email and the newly confirmed password.

If, after these steps, the console still reports “incorrect password” while the same credentials work on the web, contact Microsoft Support using a different or new Microsoft account to sign in and open a support case, as suggested in the Q&A context.
