Configuring preferences and options in Outlook.com
Removing the personalized address from the Microsoft account aliases permanently removed it as an alias. Once an alias is removed, it cannot be restored or re‑added, even if the same domain is still owned and connected. This is by design for Outlook.com aliases and applies to addresses on custom domains as well.
The current Outlook.com behavior for personalized email addresses is:
- Personalized email addresses that already exist can continue to be used, but
- New personalized email addresses on a domain, or re‑adding a removed one, are no longer supported for Microsoft 365 Personal/Family subscribers.
Because the address was removed from the account, it cannot be added back as a personalized Outlook.com alias or used again as that same Microsoft account alias.
For continued use of the custom domain for mail, the only available options are to:
- Use another email system that supports the lewisestate.com domain mailboxes, or
- Use a different alias that is still present on the Microsoft account.
If additional help is needed with Outlook.com or the Microsoft account, support can be contacted directly from Outlook.com using the Help → Still need help? flow described in the references.
