Unable to Access Microsoft Teams Subscription and No Support Available

Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I am writing to complain regarding an issue with my Microsoft Teams Phone subscription and the lack of support I have received.

I purchased a normal Microsoft Teams Basic license along with an international calling/minutes subscription through Microsoft customer support. During the support call, your representative created an Admin Center account for me, and I also received confirmation that the subscription was successfully purchased.

However, I am now unable to access the account because I no longer remember the login credentials that were created during the call. I have tried multiple times to recover the account and contact support, but I have not been able to get proper assistance.

At the moment, I am paying for a subscription that I cannot use or access.

I request Microsoft to please:

  • Help me recover the account credentials
  • Verify my subscription using my purchase/payment details
  • Restore access to my Teams and international calling subscription
  • Provide proper customer support regarding this issue

This experience has been very frustrating, especially since the account was initially created by your support representative.

Please contact me as soon as possible to resolve this matter.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Account recovery and subscription verification for a business Microsoft 365/Teams tenant cannot be performed through forums or documentation and requires direct engagement with Microsoft support or the Data Protection team.

Because the original admin credentials are lost and there is no access to the tenant, the only supported path is to open a formal support case so Microsoft can validate identity and ownership using business and payment details, then help restore access.

    Use one of these approaches:

    1. If any admin access is still available (different account on the same tenant)
      • Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center: https://admin.cloud.microsoft.
      • In the lower-right corner, select Help & support.
      • Describe the issue (lost global admin credentials / cannot access Teams Phone subscription) and submit.
      • If the automated suggestions do not help, choose Contact Support (headset icon) and select phone or email.
      • Ask to be connected/escalated to the Data Protection team to help with tenant/admin recovery.
    2. If no one can sign in as admin at all (sole admin locked out)
In this case, only Microsoft support/Data Protection can help:
      • Call Microsoft customer service for business and ask the frontline agent to open a support ticket for a tenant lockout / lost global admin account and route it to the Data Protection team.
      • Be prepared to provide:
        • Company/organization name used on the subscription.
        • Approximate purchase date and subscription type (Teams Phone / Teams Basic / calling plan).
        • Billing details (last 4 digits of card, billing address, invoices, etc.).
        • Any domain or tenant information that might be associated with the account.
If reaching phone support is difficult, a common workaround is:
      1. Create a new temporary Microsoft 365 tenant by signing up for a trial Microsoft 365 subscription.
      2. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center of this new trial tenant.
      3. Use Help & support in the admin center to open a support ticket.
      4. In the ticket, clearly state that the issue is with a different existing tenant where the global admin credentials are lost and that access to Teams Phone and calling subscriptions is blocked. Request escalation to the Data Protection team to validate ownership and restore access to the original tenant.
      5. After the issue is resolved, cancel the trial subscription to avoid charges.
    3. Once support/Data Protection is engaged
      • They will validate identity and ownership using the business and payment information.
      • After validation, they can help:
        • Reset or reassign global admin access.
        • Restore sign-in to the tenant.
        • Confirm and manage the existing Teams Phone / calling subscriptions (including cancellation or license changes if desired).

If the subscription was purchased through a partner or reseller rather than directly from Microsoft, contact that partner’s support and ask them to open a Microsoft support request on behalf of the organization.
