how to join the family subscription?

To join and use a Microsoft 365 Family subscription that someone else owns, the subscription owner must share it and an invitation must be accepted.

Follow these steps:

1. Ask the Family subscription owner (the account with the Gmail address mentioned) to share the subscription with the Microsoft account that should use it.
   • The owner should go to https://account.microsoft.com/services, select the Microsoft 365 Family subscription, and use the sharing options to send an invitation email.
2. Open the invitation email sent from Microsoft.
   • In the email, select Accept.
   • On the page that opens, select Join now to join the family group associated with that Family subscription.
   • If there is no Microsoft account yet for the email being invited, create one when prompted.
   • If already in another Microsoft family group, leave that group first, then accept the new invitation.
3. Start using Microsoft 365 from the shared subscription:
   • After joining, select Start using Microsoft 365 apps on the confirmation page.
   • Select Install and follow the prompts to download and install the Office apps, or just sign into existing Office apps with the Microsoft account that accepted the invitation.

Once these steps are complete, the account that accepted the invitation will be using the Family subscription instead of the cancelled personal subscription.
