Emails coming from siphoned inbox taking too long to come through

Hello,

I have an email inbox that was made years ago when I was a teenager that is set up to send all emails to my regular inbox. I still have accounts for lots of different sites set up with the old email.

However, I want to change the passwords of some of these accounts as they haven't been updated in years. The issue is that the emails with codes to change passwords are taking too long to come from my old inbox so the codes are expired by the time I get them. It can take days for the emails to come through, or sometimes not at all. I've tried recovering my old inbox but I haven't used it in many years so I don't remember much of the information.

Please could I receive help to get my emails from my old inbox to my new one gaster so I can change the passwords for my accounts? Thank you.

For delayed or missing messages coming into an Outlook.com inbox from another account, the available guidance is to use the built‑in Outlook.com support and troubleshooting flows so the service team can check the account and mail flow directly.

    Use these steps:

    1. Sign in to Outlook.com with the inbox where messages are arriving late.
    2. On the top menu bar, select Help.
    3. In the Help pane, describe the issue (for example: “Forwarded mail from old account is delayed by days; password reset codes expire before arrival”).
    4. If the self‑help suggestions do not resolve the problem, scroll down to Still need help? and choose Yes to start a support request with Outlook.com support.
    5. If there are sign‑in issues with either the old or new Microsoft account, use the account and security help entry point and the verification‑code troubleshooting article to restore reliable access and verification:
      • Start from the Microsoft account help area at Account & Billing Help.
      • If verification codes are not arriving or are heavily delayed, follow the steps under Troubleshoot Microsoft verification code issues, especially the section I’m not getting my Microsoft account verification code (check the right mailbox, avoid repeated requests, and verify that the address/phone used for codes is correct and not blocked).

If sign‑in or security‑info problems are suspected (for example, old security info, blocked region, or unusual‑activity blocks), resolving those via the verification‑code troubleshooting flow can restore timely delivery of security emails, including password‑reset codes.

If none of the above resolves the issue, use the general Microsoft support entry point to open a case so support can review the account configuration and forwarding behavior.
