How do I revert the planner back to its previous version. How do I get rid of taskchat when I click on an task in my daily planner? It takes up half the screen which is ridiculous and useless. Why is there all of this extra useless stuff now? How do I get rid of it and revert back to the previous version. I do not want or like this.

Hi @Naomi,

According to your concern, the new Task chat that you're seeing is a part of new rollout Planner experience in Teams/Planner on the web and the old task comments experience is replaced with Task chat for basic plans. Since it is described as an automatic rollout with "no admin action required", unfortunately there is no official setting or admin action that can be done to disable Task chat or revert the comment feature back.

For more information about the rollout, you can refer to: MC1193421 - Retirement of several Microsoft Planner features in early 2026 as part of a Planner update

This is the worst update you could do. It has rendered Planner useless for us after years of historical comments in tasks. We should have the option to revert! If Planner can't work for us, we may cancel our company O365 account and use another service.
