how to fix the forgot pwd for two step verifications

Hello,

I have setup a two step verification process for my account and i have forgot my password to login, I am unable to reset my pwd as it asks me code in authenticator app as a second step verification which again takes me to the login page in authenticator app and am unable to reset it. could you guide me in this process to reset my pwd.

If this is a work/school account, your admin can help in resetting and you can set up your MFA.
Otherwise, you can use the Microsoft account recovery form: Go to https://account.live.com/acsr (https://account.live.com/acsr) — this allows you to prove your identity without needing your password or 2FA code. You'll need to provide details like previous passwords, email subjects, billing info, or Xbox gamertag to verify ownership.

As per alternative sign-in methods: If you have other verification methods registered (backup email, phone number, or security key), try resetting your password at https://account.live.com/password/reset (https://account.live.com/password/reset) and select "Use a different verification option" to bypass the Authenticator app prompt. If no alternative methods are available, the recovery form above is your only self-service path.
