I got an email for a security code but I didn't try to log in anywhere and didn't get an email that a different device had attempted to log in. I changed my password and stuff but is there anyway to check? Account activity only shows me successful sign ins.

Go to https://account.live.com/Activity (https://account.live.com/Activity) and look under the "Unsuccessful sign-ins" tab — this shows blocked attempts that don't appear in the default successful sign-ins view. If nothing shows, the security code email itself may have been a phishing attempt — verify it came from ******@accountprotection.microsoft.com.
