OneNote freeze on iPad-mini

Of late “OneNote” is freezing quite often on iPad-mini 6th generation. I am a regular user for decades and never saw it this bad. Tried restarting OneNote as well as iPad-mini but new page freezes after sometime and a force close of the app is needed. After opening OneNote again, unless old page is chosen first, the new page doesn’t immediately respond.

iPadOS ver 26.5. OneNote v16.109 (26050820).Please help in resolving this.
