Unable to get past "prove you're human"

Trying to create a new microsoft account, seems like Microsoft has now made it impossible to get past the "prove you're human" thing. Tried this numerous times on both Edge and Chrome. I'll hold the button, after a couple of seconds the button turns blue with a green tick, and reverts to this.

Is it still possible to create a new microsoft account?

Yes, it is still possible to create a new Microsoft account. The “Press and hold the button” human verification can fail if something in the browser interferes with the control.

From a similar case, the most common cause is an ad blocker or similar browser extension. Disabling the ad blocker (or other content-filtering extensions) temporarily, then reloading the page, allowed the verification to complete and the account to be created.

If the issue persists after turning off such extensions, try again in a different browser or in a private/incognito window with no extensions enabled.

If the account creation page itself is blocked or repeatedly fails, an alternative is to:

  1. Create the account from another device or browser.
  2. If creating the account as part of setting up a new PC, use an existing Microsoft account or a local account first, then add the new Microsoft account later using the options described in the referenced article.

Incognito worked. Thanks MS for telling people to use Edge in Incognito when trying to create a new account
