I received a note regarding Microsoft 365 no longer supporting certain Mac systems. I am trying to verify that it will STILL be supported (I will have full access to my Microsoft 365 apps) after July 13 on two systems: First my macOS Monterey 12.7.6 and Second on my macOS Sequoia 15.6. What do I do?

Thanks for the details @Kim Monaghan

Your macOS Sequoia 15.6 should continue to fully support Microsoft 365 apps and receive updates without issue.

For macOS Monterey 12.7.6, the apps should still work for now, but Monterey is no longer within Microsoft’s currently supported macOS versions. That means you may eventually stop receiving new Office updates and security fixes on that Mac.

I also do not see an official Microsoft announcement stating that Microsoft 365 access will completely stop on July 13 for Monterey users.

For now, I recommend opening a Microsoft 365 app like Word, then go to Help > Check for Updates and install all available updates.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Regards,

John J.D.

I'm case # 7106698803. I need to speak with an agent again. You sent me to Apple re my Microsoft 365 problem. I've updated my Mac operating system, Apple's only idea, and I still cannot open any of the Microsoft 365 apps. Therefore I cannnot even READ my files. My work life is at a standstill.

    Hi, I'm John!

Live support through chat is usually available Monday to Friday during normal business hours, depending on your location.

    1. May I ask what issue you’re contacting support about?
    2. Are you using a personal Microsoft account (like Outlook/Hotmail), or is this for Microsoft 365 Business?

Phone support is usually available for Microsoft 365 Business accounts. For personal Microsoft accounts, support is typically handled through live chat online or via the Get Help app rather than a direct hotline number.

To chat with a Microsoft customer service agent for Microsoft 365/Office, use one of these supported paths:

    1. Go to the Microsoft Support contact page: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/
      • Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with the subscription.
      • Select the product that matches Microsoft 365/Office.
      • Choose the appropriate category (for example, billing, subscription, or technical support).
      • Select the option such as Chat with a support agent in your web browser when it appears, then follow the prompts.
    2. From the Get Help app on Windows (if available):
      • Open the Get Help app from the Start menu.
      • Type "Chat with an agent" and press Enter.
      • Select Contact support.
      • Choose the product and follow the on-screen steps until the chat option is offered.

In both cases, if chat is not available (for example, outside working hours or in certain regions), a Call me back or phone support option may be shown instead.
