For a personal Azure account that uses Microsoft Authenticator and is no longer receiving MFA notifications, the MFA configuration must be reset from an account with admin rights in the tenant where the account resides.

From the provided guidance, the effective pattern to fix a stuck Azure MFA profile is:

    1. Sign in to the Azure tenant with another account that can be made or already is a Global Administrator.
    2. In the Microsoft Entra admin center, go to:
      • Identity → Users → All users.
    3. Locate the affected user (the personal account, often added as a guest in the tenant) and open the user.
    4. Select Authentication methods.
    5. At the top, select Require re-register MFA.
    6. Have the affected user sign in again; the user will be prompted to register MFA from scratch and can reconfigure Microsoft Authenticator or another method.

If there is no other admin account available, an admin account must first be created or recovered for the tenant so that it can perform the above reset.

If the problem is specifically that the Authenticator app is not completing login (for example, no push approval is completed), ensure that the login is finished in the Authenticator or primary Microsoft app on the device. If that still fails, contact the tenant’s IT admin to reset MFA as described above.
