Previously installed Home Office 2021 on my laptop that I have now changed. How do I use my key to reinstall Office on my new laptop

Follow these steps to reinstall and activate Office Home 2021 on the new laptop.

1. Make sure the license can be moved
   • Office Home & Student/Home & Business/Professional (one-time purchase) is licensed for a single computer.
   • To move it to a different computer, the Software License Terms require activation by phone and that Office be uninstalled from the original computer.
2. Sign in and reinstall Office 2021
   1. On the new laptop, go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to redeem/activate Office Home 2021.
   2. Under Services & subscriptions, locate the Office 2021 product.
   3. Select Install to download the Office installer.
   4. Run the installer and follow the prompts to complete installation.
   If Office 2021 was originally pre-installed on the device and activated without a product key/Microsoft account, and it was an Office 2021 product that must be installed via Microsoft Store, reinstall it from the Microsoft Store Library instead:
   • Open Microsoft Store > Library > Apps (or All), turn off Show installed products only, find the Office product, and select the cloud icon to reinstall.
3. Activate Office on the new laptop
   • After installation, open an Office app (for example, Word).
   • When prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account used in step 2.
   • If an activation limit message appears (for example, that the maximum number of activations has been reached), use the Activate by telephone option and follow the prompts, then ensure Office is uninstalled from the old computer.
4. If the product key says it has already been used
   • The key is only for the first redemption and is now linked to the Microsoft account.
   • Do not re-enter the key at setup sites; instead always install from the Microsoft account page as in step 2.
