An Azure communication platform for deploying applications across devices and platforms.
Thanks for the details, and I’m sorry to hear your toll-free verification keeps getting rejected despite confirming the EIN and completing all the business fields.
This error (“Business registration number (EIN) is missing or invalid”) comes from the carrier-side validation process. They automatically cross-check the EIN against IRS records, and even minor differences such as “Inc.” vs. “Incorporated,” extra spaces, or punctuation in the legal business name can cause a rejection.
Here’s what usually fixes this:
- Exact name match: Compare the legal business name in your application against your official IRS documents (SS-4 or CP-575 letter). Use the name exactly as it appears, including suffixes like LLC, Inc., or Corp. The EIN should be entered as a 9-digit number.
- Field consistency: Ensure the company name, address, entity type, website, and email domain all clearly represent the same legal entity.
- Submit fresh: Don’t edit the previous application. In the Azure portal, go to your Communication Services resource > Regulatory Documents > Add a new toll-free verification request after making the corrections.
