At this stage, the OMS commerce system places a login block AADSTS5000225, Twenty days after this block is applied, the tenant is permanently deleted.

To restore access, the tenant must have been blocked for less than 20 days. After 30 days, the tenant is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

When a tenant is blocked for inactivity, sign-in is prevented and the AADSTS5000225 error is shown.
Administrators can request reactivation only within 20 days after the tenant becomes inactive. After 20 days in this blocked state, the tenant is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

To try to reactivate access:

If the tenant was blocked less than 20 days ago:
- The tenant administrator must contact Microsoft support using the global support phone numbers listed in the documentation to request reactivation.
- While the case is in progress, no additional assistance requests should be opened.
If the tenant has been blocked for more than 20 days:
- The tenant is deleted and cannot be restored.
- A new tenant and a new Azure subscription must be created to continue using Azure.

For some users, especially with free or trial accounts, an alternative path that has worked is:

Open a private/incognito browser session.
Go to https://signup.azure.com.
Sign in with the same account that shows the error.
If the sign-up page detects an existing free account, follow the prompts to upgrade to a pay-as-you-go subscription. This can restore access when the subscription, rather than the tenant itself, is the main blocker.

If none of these options work and the tenant is past the 20‑day reactivation window, creating a new Microsoft account or a new tenant is required.
