Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
To stop further charges and try to resolve this:
- Cancel or turn off recurring billing
- Go to the Microsoft account Services page: https://account.microsoft.com/services.
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy the Microsoft 365 Premium subscription.
- Under the Microsoft 365 subscription, select Cancel subscription (or Upgrade or Cancel).
- If there is no cancel option but it shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to end on the date shown and will not renew; no further action is needed.
- Follow the on-screen steps and confirm I don't want my subscription to complete cancellation.
- If there is no cancel option
If the subscription was purchased through a third party (e.g., retailer, Google Play, Apple App Store), cancellation and refunds must be handled with them:
- For retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, etc., contact the retailer directly.
- For Google Play purchases, see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
- For Apple App Store purchases, request a refund from Apple support.
- If still being charged after cancelling
- Cancellations must be more than 2 days before the billing date. Check the subscription end date on the Subscriptions page.
- Verify that the correct Microsoft account is being used; if the wrong account is signed in, charges may appear to continue.
- Requesting a refund
- After signing in at https://account.microsoft.com/services and cancelling, follow the instructions under How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription if eligible.
- For more detailed cancellation and refund terms, see the Microsoft Store Terms of Sale linked from the refund article.
- Contacting support
- For additional help, go to Contact Microsoft Support from the refund article, enter the problem, select Get Help, then Contact Support to be routed to a support option.
Be aware that cancelling Microsoft 365 will reduce cloud storage back to the free allowance (5 GB OneDrive + Outlook.com attachments and 15 GB Outlook.com storage). If storage used is above the free limit, uploading/syncing files and sending/receiving Outlook.com email may be blocked, and OneDrive content may eventually be deleted after the retention period.
