Looping Glitch in iOS Authenticator

I’m having a big issue here. Microsoft Authenticator cannot upload the backup to iCloud despite following all the steps required.
When I open the app, it says unable to backup please sign in. When I sign in it says something went wrong.
I’m not using a vpn, my iCloud backup has the toggle enabled for Authenticator.
reinstalling the app is not a solution.
I found this post online 7 days ago, and basically it was to reinstall the app. However the issue is it’ll fetch the latest iCloud update. This is not good because I have 2FAs that need to be backed up which I’ll loose.
Many others have this issue and this needs to be fixed!
