    Dear @Bill Stumphauzer,

Regarding reinstalling Visio Premium 2010 on your new computer, I understand that you have a valid product key but no longer have the installation file. Unfortunately, for Visio 2010, the product key alone is not enough to reinstall the software. The original installation media (such as the DVD or setup files) is required to complete the installation.

However, please understand that Visio Premium 2010 is part of the Microsoft Office 2010, and support for Office 2010 officially ended on October 13, 2020. As a result of this end of support, Microsoft no longer provides technical support for Visio 2010, no further security or feature updates are released, and download access for installation files is no longer available through Microsoft. For reference: End of support for Office 2010 and Visio 2010 - Microsoft Lifecycle

Because of these limitations, there isn’t any official supported way to download the installer directly from Microsoft using only your product key.

In this case, since Visio 2010 has reached end of support, upgrading to a current version, such as Visio Plan 2 or Visio 2024 (one-time purchase) is strongly recommended. These newer versions are fully supported, provide improved compatibility with modern operating systems, and continue to receive security updates to help protect your environment and data.

For more information, please refer to Upgrade from Visio 2010 to Visio Plan 2 and Visio Plans and Pricing

If Visio was purchased through a reseller, organization, or workplace program, I recommend reaching out to them directly, as they may be able to assist you in obtaining replacement installation media or provide further guidance based on the original purchase.

Note: Please understand that as a forum moderator, my role is to provide general guidance and troubleshooting support. I am not involved in product design decisions and do not have direct access to the development roadmap. Since I don’t have access to internal systems or backend tools, I appreciate your understanding of these limits.

I hope the information is helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I'm happy to assist further.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I'm looking forward for your reply.

Visio Premium 2010 can no longer be downloaded from Microsoft, and installation now requires both:

    1. A valid Visio Premium 2010 product key, and
    2. The original Office/Visio 2010 installation media (DVD or setup files).

    From the available guidance:

    • If the original DVD or installation files are lost, Visio/Office 2010 cannot be installed again.
    • Microsoft no longer provides replacement downloads for Office 2010 products; an installation disc is explicitly required.

The only supported options are therefore:

    1. Locate the original Visio Premium 2010 installation disc or backup copy of the installer and use it together with the existing product key.
    2. If the product was purchased through a channel that can still provide media, contact that seller to see if replacement media is available.
    3. Consider moving to a supported version (for example, a Microsoft 365 subscription with a current Visio offering), since Office 2010, including Visio 2010, is out of support.

There is no supported way in the provided documentation to reinstall Visio Premium 2010 on a new computer using only the product key without the original installation media.
