Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hi mira morton luna,
I understand that someone accessed your Microsoft account and an Xbox profile now appears to be attached to it. Since this involves account access and Xbox profile activity, the first priority is to secure the Microsoft account.
The Q&A Assist answer is generally accurate. Did you have a chance to try its steps, especially reviewing recent activity, changing your password, and checking whether unfamiliar security information was added?
I would like to add one point that may help clarify the Xbox side of the issue. The Xbox profile cannot be treated separately until the Microsoft account is secured, because the Xbox profile is connected to the same Microsoft account sign-in. After completing the security steps, if the Xbox profile, gamertag, purchases, or account activity still does not belong to you, please contact Xbox Support for account and profile assistance:
- Visit https://support.xbox.com/contact-us and sign into your account.
- Select the main Contact Us button.
- In the window that appears:
- For "What are you having trouble with?", select "Account & Profile".
- For "What's the problem?", select "I need a Microsoft account".
- For "Describe your issue", type "Manage account".
- Select Next.
- On the next screen, under "Other options", select "Chat with us to connect with a live support agent".
Xbox Support also has guidance for securing an account if you think it has been compromised: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-profile/manage-account/compromised-account-solution
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access your Microsoft account, remove the Xbox profile for you, or review account activity from the back end. Also, please avoid posting your email address, phone number, gamertag, recovery codes, or screenshots showing personal details in this public thread.
I hope this helps clarify the next step after securing the account.
