Authenticator app was deleted from iphone

Follow these steps on the iPhone to reload Microsoft Authenticator and get work codes again.

1. Install Microsoft Authenticator
   • Open the App Store on the iPhone.
   • Search for Microsoft Authenticator.
   • Download and install the app.
2. Make sure iCloud services are ready (for backup-based restore) If Authenticator was previously backed up on this iPhone with iCloud:
   • Turn on iCloud Drive on the device.
   • Turn on iCloud Keychain.
   • Turn on iCloud Backup.
3. Restore accounts in Authenticator (if an iCloud backup exists)
   • Open Microsoft Authenticator.
   • Sign in with the account used previously for Authenticator backup (typically a personal Microsoft account for iCloud backup).
   • Use the Begin recovery / restore option when prompted.
   • After restore, for each work or school account, tap it and sign in again when prompted. Only the account names are restored; sign-in must be completed to re-enable MFA codes.
4. If backup does not appear
   • Uninstall Authenticator.
   • Reinstall it from the App Store.
   • Open it again and check for the backup.
5. If no backup exists
   • Work or school accounts must be re-added by re-registering MFA.
   • Sign in to a work resource (for example, Microsoft 365 or Company Portal) and follow the prompts to set up Microsoft Authenticator as the MFA method again.
   • If unable to complete sign-in because of missing codes, contact the organization’s IT support or administrator to reset MFA for the account so Authenticator can be registered again.
