Unfortunately Microsoft currently doesn’t support adding Android devices to the Microsoft account device list. Even if you install Outlook or other Microsoft apps and sign in, the device won’t appear there. This is also noted in Microsoft’s documentation under the Android section in https://support.microsoft.com/windows/manage-devices-used-with-your-microsoft-account-d4044995-81db-b24b-757e-1102d148f441#id0ebbl=android "Sorry, Android devices cannot be added at this time".

I would really recommend sharing it directly with Microsoft through the Feedback Hub app on Windows "Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app" That way the engineering team can see the request and consider improving Android compatibility in future updates.

Android phones cannot be registered as devices in a Microsoft account in the same way as Windows PCs or Xbox consoles. The devices list at https://account.microsoft.com/devices does not support adding Android devices.

However, an Android phone can be linked to a Microsoft account for use with Phone Link (Link to Windows):

On the Android phone, open the Link to Windows app.
Choose one of the two sign-in options:
- Sign in with your Microsoft account:
  - When prompted, sign in with the Microsoft account that will be used with the PC.
  - If a Microsoft account is already present on the phone, confirm it and select Continue.
  - If not, sign in or create a new Microsoft account, then select Continue.
- Scan the QR code:
  1. On the Windows PC, open Phone Link (search for “Phone Link” from the taskbar).
  2. Start the linking process in Phone Link and follow the instructions until a QR code appears.
  3. On the Android phone, in Link to Windows, use the built-in camera to scan that QR code.
Complete any permission prompts on the Android phone (such as notifications access) so that data and notifications can sync between phone and PC.

To verify the same Microsoft account is used on both devices:

On the PC:
1. Go to https://www.accounts.microsoft.com/devices/android-ios and sign in with the Microsoft account.
2. Check that the Android device appears under the account information.
On the Android device:
- Open Settings and locate the Link to Windows or Accounts section (varies by device, for example Settings > Advanced features > Link to Windows on some Samsung devices) and confirm the email address shown under Microsoft account or Account.
