Transferring Microsoft Authenticator onto iPhone 17 Pro

Do the following on the old iPhone 15 Pro first, then on the new iPhone 17 Pro.

1. On the old iPhone (source device)
   1. Enable iCloud Drive on the device. Learn how.
   2. Enable iCloud Keychain. Learn how.
   3. Enable iCloud Backup. Learn how.
   4. Go to the Saved to iCloud list and search for Authenticator. Learn how. Make sure the toggle for Authenticator is turned on so it’s included in the backup.
   5. Make sure Microsoft Authenticator is updated to version 6.8.33 or later.
   6. Open the Authenticator app at least once (while signed into the same Apple ID used for iCloud) so the backup state is current.
2. On the new iPhone 17 Pro (target device)
   1. Confirm the same Apple ID is signed in and that iCloud Drive, iCloud Keychain, and iCloud Backup are enabled.
   2. If Authenticator is already installed and not showing the backup, uninstall the Microsoft Authenticator app.
   3. Reinstall Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store.
   4. Open the app; the iCloud backup for Authenticator should now appear and offer to restore.

If the backup still does not appear after these steps, add accounts again manually as needed. For work or school accounts and passwordless Microsoft accounts, only the account names are backed up; sign-in must be completed again after restore.
