1 have recently started using onenote on my pad air with the pencil pro, it was working well for me until the last few days when there seems to be issues with writing on the left hand side of the page.

Now 1 try and write on the left the text recognition pencil doesn't work and 1 have to use only the right hand side of the page and cannot scribble to delete text either on the left of a page

there are no issues with my iPad as the pencil works perfectly here and in ‘apple pages’ app for example. It seems to be a bug in OneNote specifically. A real shame as I was really getting used to the note taking with the software and transferring actions from my notes to my todo in outlook.

    Hi, Nardo

It does sound more like a OneNote app issue than an iPad or Apple Pencil Pro hardware problem, especially since the pencil still works normally in other apps. Here are some suggestions you can try:

First make sure both OneNote and iPadOS are fully updated, because Scribble was previously disabled in OneNote for iPad during an iPadOS compatibility problem and later restored in newer builds. Then force-close OneNote, restart the iPad, and if needed reinstall the app.

It is recommended that you also test whether this happens in every notebook or only one page, and check the same notebook in OneNote for the web, because if the web version works normally, that points back to the iPad app itself.

If it still only fails on the left side, send feedback from inside OneNote so the product team can trace it properly. A full iPad reset is also a possible solution, but I’d keep that as a last resort.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
