The error message in the screenshot indicates that the directory object quota limit for the tenant has been exceeded. This prevents new sign-ins or directory operations until the quota issue is resolved.
Because this is a tenant-level quota problem, it must be fixed by the tenant administrator in Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID or Microsoft 365:
- Contact the Microsoft 365/Azure administrator for the tenant shown in the error.
- The admin should review the tenant’s directory object usage and quota in the Azure portal (Microsoft Entra ID):
- Check how many directory objects (users, groups, service principals, etc.) are in use.
- Delete unused or stale objects to reduce usage.
- If the tenant is legitimately at capacity, request an increase of the directory object quota through Microsoft support.
- After the quota is reduced or increased and directory operations succeed again, retry the sign-in.
If not the admin, provide the full error text (including “Directory_QuotaExceeded” and the request ID) to the admin or support so they can open a support case with Microsoft if needed.
