Real-time voice or video communication between users on mobile devices or computers
Use these locations in Teams to find the meeting recording, depending on how the meeting was scheduled and where it took place:
- From the meeting chat
- In Teams, select Chat.
- Open the chat thread for that specific meeting (it will have the meeting name and time).
- Go to the Shared tab.
- Look for the recording (an .mp4 file with a Recording icon) and select it, then choose Play.
- From the Teams calendar
- Select Calendar in Teams.
- Double‑click the past meeting that was recorded.
- In the Recap or Meeting recap section, locate the meeting recording.
- Select Play on the recording.
- From a channel (if it was a channel meeting)
- Select Teams in the left rail.
- Open the team and channel where the meeting took place.
- Go to the Shared tab.
- Find the recording (listed as an .mp4 file with a Recording icon) and select it, then choose Play if it does not start automatically.
- From OneDrive or SharePoint (storage location)
- For non‑channel meetings: the recording is stored in the Recordings folder in the meeting organizer’s OneDrive for Business.
- For channel meetings: the recording is stored in the team’s SharePoint site under the channel’s Files tab.
If the recording is not visible in chat, calendar recap, or the channel’s Shared/Files tab, it may have expired or been deleted according to organization policies, or the recording might not have completed successfully.
