Microsoft Authenticator Verification For New Account

I am trying to add another account on my Microsoft authenticator app using my email since I am already signed in with another. I enter my email and my password both correctly and before I can continue it it’s asking for verification. I either have to go to the app, which I’m trying to sign into, and pick the correct number or they would send me a verification code, which is also in the app. Do I have to contact someone because I can trying to sign into the app but I can only do that if I am in the app?
