I have a MS 365 business account. I was charged for a personal account which is not needed. How do I get a credit - $105.99?

To receive a credit for an unwanted Microsoft 365 personal subscription, the personal subscription must first be canceled, then refund eligibility can be checked.

    1. Cancel the Microsoft 365 personal subscription:
      1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same personal Microsoft account that was charged.
      2. Find the Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium subscription under Services & subscriptions and select Manage.
        • If Turn on recurring billing is shown instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire on the listed date and will not be charged again.
      3. On the next page, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on what appears).
      4. Follow the prompts and confirm cancellation.
    2. Check refund eligibility and request a credit:
      • For Microsoft 365 subscriptions purchased from Microsoft, canceling first is required to check refund eligibility for the charge (for example, the $105.99).
      • After cancellation, the system will indicate whether a refund is available based on region, subscription type, and timing.
      • In certain countries (such as Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Turkey), canceling may entitle to a prorated refund depending on subscription length and renewal status. Details are in the refund policy linked from the refund article.
    3. If the subscription was purchased through a mobile app store:
      • If the personal Microsoft 365 subscription was bought via Google Play or Apple App Store, cancellation and refund must be requested from those stores directly, not from Microsoft:
        • Google Play: see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
        • Apple App Store: request a refund from Apple support.

If additional help is needed with the refund after cancellation (for example, if the automatic process does not offer a refund), contact Microsoft Billing Support and provide the account and charge details so they can review the transaction.
