A Microsoft digital storytelling app for creating and sharing interactive reports and presentations.
Dear @Bixler, Lisa,
Good day, and I appreciate the clear description of your issue. As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or delve into the backend systems to diagnose and fix this for you. However, our role here is limited to providing general guidance and solutions that can be applied by users.
To help narrow this down, would you mind sharing the following details?
- The exact error message shown (word‑for‑word)
- Whether you’re pasting the full <iframe …> embed code or only a share URL
- A screenshot of the embed card in Sway, if possible
In the meantime, please try the steps below, as they commonly resolve this scenario:
- URL/domain mismatch (most frequent recent cause): Older embed codes sometimes reference forms.cloud.microsoft instead of the current forms.office.com. If your code contains the old domain, edit it manually to replace with forms.office.com (or regenerate a fresh embed code from Forms).
- Make sure you're copying the full iframe embed code from the Embed button in Forms (not just the share link).
- Try a different browser or incognito/private mode (sometimes cached data or extensions interfere).
- Ensure the form sharing settings allow "Anyone can respond" if you're testing externally.
- Clear your Sway cache or try creating a new Embed card from scratch.
If it still says "not supported" after using a freshly generated embed code:
- There may be a temporary service issue. While nothing widespread has been reported today, waiting a few hours and trying again can help.
- Double-check you're using the web version of Sway (sway.office.com or sway.cloud.microsoft), not any cached desktop app version.
If none of the above solutions work, let me know in the comments for further investigation. Please note that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I'm looking forward to your reply.
