Morning

I am in receipt of your message on Friday 20th March 2026, which is a little confusing. My subscription was cancelled on Thursday 19th March 2026, £84.99, because I have taken out on Tuesday 17th March, a life time subscription at Currys in Barnsley £122.55, I obviously don't want the 2 subscriptions so I would appreciate it if you would refund me £84.99 as soon as possible please, I am a pensioner and don't work anymore so I cannot afford to pay for this twice?

Would you please confirm that I can have the refund and when this will be paid back?

Kind Regards

Jennie Peace

A Microsoft 365 subscription refund cannot be confirmed or processed here, but the charge can be checked and a refund requested by cancelling the subscription through the Microsoft account used to purchase it.

Follow these steps to cancel and check refund eligibility for the £84.99 Microsoft 365 subscription:

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was charged £84.99.
    2. Find the Microsoft 365 subscription that was renewed/charged £84.99 and select Manage.
      • If instead of Manage it shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire and will not be charged again; no further action is needed for renewal, but this does not itself issue a refund.
    3. On the next page, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on what is shown).
    4. Scroll through and follow the on‑screen instructions to complete cancellation.

Key points from the refund policy in the context:

    • To check refund eligibility on a Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium subscription purchased from Microsoft, the subscription must be cancelled first.
    • Not all cancellations result in a refund.
    • In certain countries (Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey), cancelling may entitle the subscriber to a prorated refund depending on subscription length. Details are in the “Countries with prorated refunds for Microsoft subscriptions” article linked in the documentation.

If the subscription was purchased through a third party (for example, an app store or a retailer) rather than directly from Microsoft, refund requests must be handled by that seller. The context notes specifically that if a Microsoft subscription was purchased from Google Play or the Apple App Store, their support must be contacted for cancellation or refund.

If there is any confusion about the charges or if the online cancellation and refund flow does not clearly show eligibility, contact Microsoft Support directly for billing help:

    • Go to the Contact Microsoft Support page referenced in the documentation.
    • Choose the Microsoft 365/Office product, then a billing or subscription category, and use the Chat with a support agent or callback option to have an agent review the account, confirm whether the £84.99 charge is refundable, and provide the expected refund timeline.

Because this environment has no access to personal billing data, only Microsoft’s billing system or support agents can confirm whether the specific £84.99 will be refunded and when it will be paid back.
