Reinstall the microsoft office in this device

Follow these steps depending on how Office was originally set up on the laptop.

Option 1 – Office tied to a Microsoft account (most common)

If Office was activated with a Microsoft account when the laptop was first used:

1. Go to the Microsoft account dashboard and select Sign in.
2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to set up or activate Office/Microsoft 365 on this laptop.
3. Select the Subscriptions icon in the left pane.
4. On the Subscriptions page:
   • If using an Office one-time purchase (perpetual license): under Products you've purchased, find the same Office product name and select Install.
   • If using a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription: select Install Microsoft 365 in the upper-right.
5. In the Install Microsoft 365 dialog:
   • Choose the language.
   • Choose the bit version (32-bit or 64-bit), then select Install.
6. An installer (for example, OfficeSetup.exe) will download. Run it and follow the prompts.
7. When installation finishes, open Word or Excel while connected to the internet.
8. If prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account to activate. Accept the license terms.

If a slower or offline-friendly method is needed, use the Offline installer from the same Subscriptions page by choosing Offline installer under Choose a version, downloading the .img file, mounting it, and running Setup32.exe or Setup64.exe from the Office folder.

Option 2 – Office preinstalled and activated without a Microsoft account

If the device came with Office 2021 preinstalled that did not require a product key or Microsoft account during activation, reinstall from Microsoft Store:

1. Select Start and open the Microsoft Store app.
2. In Microsoft Store, select the Library icon.
3. Go to the Apps tab (or All tab if shown).
4. Turn off Show installed products only under Sort and filter (skip if using All tab).
5. In the list, find the Office product and select the cloud button.
6. The Office installer will download and start. Follow the prompts to complete installation.

After installation, open any Office app while connected to the internet to complete activation.
