I purchased the code so I can own the software for a year. I want to set up reoccurring billing to pay for it for the next year. I get to step three and I try to click save on three different devices. It won't let me click save nothing works. I approved on a robot like 24 times on three different devices. There's nothing I can do to fix this. This is ridiculous and a waste of my time and it's foolish and the AI assistant couldn't do anything to help me. this is the worst garbage I've ever had to deal with. I need help.

To set up recurring billing after redeeming a 1‑year Microsoft 365/Office code, first confirm there are no billing or payment issues on the Microsoft account, then turn on recurring billing from the subscription page.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Check for billing or payment problems
      1. Go to the Microsoft account Payment & billing / Services & subscriptions page:
      2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to redeem the product key.
      3. Look for any alerts such as:
        • A billing issue or overdue balance.
        • A Fix how you pay or Change how you pay link under Pay settings.
      4. If you see Fix how you pay or Change how you pay, select it and update the payment method (card not expired, correct details, etc.). If money is owing, it must be paid before recurring billing can be changed.
    2. Confirm subscription status
      1. On the same page, locate the Microsoft 365/Office subscription.
      2. Check the status text:
        • Has recurring billing – recurring billing is already on.
        • Expires on [date] – recurring billing is off; this is the state where you should be able to turn it on.
    3. Turn on recurring billing
      1. On the subscription line, select Change (if available) next to the billing status.
      2. Choose to Turn on recurring billing.
      3. Select or confirm a valid payment method, then save.
      4. If the Save button still does not respond on multiple devices and browsers after fixing payment issues, this indicates an account‑side or service issue rather than the devices.
    4. If the Save button still does not work Because the UI is failing across three devices and the virtual agent could not resolve it, direct support intervention is needed:
      • For Microsoft 365/Office subscriptions that cannot be managed or cancelled due to billing problems, use the guided support flow described here: Unable to cancel your Microsoft subscription. At the end of those steps, select the option to contact support.
      • If there is an unpaid or blocked charge due to bank security (Strong Customer Authentication), follow the instructions from any email received from Microsoft or the bank, as described in Payment Services Directive 2 and Strong Customer Authentication. If authentication is not completed, recurring billing setup can fail.

If, after updating payment details and completing any required bank authentication, the Save button still does not work, contact Microsoft Support directly from the account’s Services & subscriptions or billing help pages so an agent can check the subscription and fix the backend issue preventing recurring billing from being enabled.
