Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Most likely the subscription was set to recurring billing, so it renewed automatically on the renewal date without needing an additional request.
To confirm this and see how it is currently configured:
- Go to your Microsoft account Services/Subscriptions page and sign in with the account used for the subscription: https://account.microsoft.com/services/
- Locate the Microsoft 365 subscription.
- Check its status:
- If it shows Has recurring billing, the subscription was configured to renew automatically on the date shown.
- If it shows Expires on [date], recurring billing is off and it will not renew again automatically unless turned back on.
If the subscription was purchased through a third party (such as Apple/iTunes), recurring billing and renewal are managed in that provider’s subscription settings instead of on the Microsoft account page.
If the renewal or charge still looks incorrect after checking the subscription status and billing dates, contact Microsoft Support using the options described in the referenced articles to review the charge and your renewal settings.
