To complete verification of the new email address and get a fresh verification message, use the Microsoft account management pages rather than only the Windows UI.
- Sign in to the Manage how you sign in to Microsoft page: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489.
- Locate the new Centurylink email address in the list of aliases.
- If it shows as Unverified, select Verify next to that address, then select Send email to resend the verification message.
- In the Centurylink mailbox, check:
- Inbox
- Junk/Spam folder
- Any filtering rules or folders that might move messages automatically
- Open the verification email and select the verification link to complete the process.
If the Centurylink address still does not receive the message, add another email address as a verification method and confirm that one instead:
- Go to the Security tab for the Microsoft account: https://account.microsoft.com/security.
- Select Manage how I sign in.
- Select Add a new way to sign in or verify and choose An email address.
- Enter an alternate email address that can receive mail reliably and complete the code verification sent to that address.
Once a working verification email is set up, the account can use that address for future security codes and sign-in verification.
