I just received a email that says someone was trying to use my account to sign in to a dirty website and to call a certain number. Is this really from Microsoft?

I'm trying to get help, but it just keeps sending me to "billing" support even though I'm not having a billing problem, and I don't want to talk on the phone. Do they not offer text chat anymore?

Microsoft Support live chat can be accessed through the main Microsoft support contact page and product-specific help flows.

For Microsoft 365 and Office home subscriptions (such as Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium), live chat is available via the “Chat or receive a call back from a technical support expert” experience at the support contact entry point:

Go to the Microsoft support contact page: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
Sign in with the Microsoft account that has the subscription.
Select the product that needs help.
Describe the issue and proceed until the option appears to Chat with a support agent in your web browser or similar wording.

For general Microsoft product support, including business scenarios, use the main “Contact support” entry point:

Go to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=2135360
Choose the product or service.
Follow the prompts until the live chat option is offered (where available for that product/issue type).

For Microsoft 365 consumer subscriptions and supported Office one-time purchases, chat is listed as a supported channel in the Microsoft 365 Customer Service and Support options.
