Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
For a Skype Number, the Customer Service Record (CSR) or Letter of Authorization (LOA) is not provided directly to the end user by Microsoft.
To port a Skype Number to another provider (such as Telnyx), the process is initiated and driven by the new provider:
- Contact Telnyx support and tell them you want to port an existing Skype Number.
- Telnyx, as the gaining carrier, will submit the port request to Microsoft’s underlying carrier using their own LOA/CSR requirements.
- If the number is a French Skype Number, first obtain the RIO code:
- Call the Voxbone/Bandwidth toll-free number:
+33805080975to get the RIO (Relevé d'identité opérateur). - If the RIO is not received by SMS within 2 days, use the request RIO via email option.
- After requesting the email RIO, open a case with Skype customer support stating that an Email RIO for Number XXXX has been requested; Skype support will provide the RIO once they receive it.
- Call the Voxbone/Bandwidth toll-free number:
- Provide the RIO (for French numbers) or any other information Telnyx requests so they can complete the port.
There is no separate Microsoft contact to request a CSR/LOA for a Skype Number; the new provider must handle the porting process.
