DELETED PERMANETLY ARCHIVE BY CHILD

If archive messages were permanently deleted from a Gmail account, recovery depends on where they are now and on Gmail’s own retention:

1. Check Gmail’s Archive/All Mail folder
   • In Outlook for Mac, archived Gmail messages are stored in the All Mail folder.
   • In Outlook for Mac, open the Gmail account and look for a folder named All Mail (this is Gmail’s archive). See if the messages are still there.
2. Check Trash/Deleted Items
   • In Outlook or Gmail on the web, open Trash or Deleted Items.
   • If the messages are there, move them back to Inbox or another folder.
   • Note: For many providers, deleted items are only kept for about 30 days before being permanently removed. After that, they cannot be restored from Trash.
3. If messages are not in All Mail or Trash
   • When Gmail messages are permanently deleted (emptied from Trash or removed by retention), they are not recoverable through Outlook.
   • Recovery would then depend entirely on Gmail’s own recovery options or any backups that may exist outside Outlook (for example, exported mail archives or system backups). Those options are not covered in the provided material.
4. For future protection
   • Use Archive instead of Delete when wanting to keep messages but remove them from the Inbox. Archived messages remain accessible and are not automatically emptied.
