The "G", "H", and " ' " keys on my laptop keyboard stopped working.

Hello,

I am having a problem with my laptop keyboard. The "G" key, the "H" key, and the apostrophe ( ' ) key suddenly stopped working today. It was working fine just last night. All the other keys are still working.

Can you please help me find out what is wrong and how to fix it? My laptop is Huawei Matebook D16.

Hi! I'm experiencing the same issue. Currently, I use on-screen keyboard to enter the faulty keys (w/c is btw exactly the same as yours). Were you able to fix your keyboard?

my laptop literally does the same thing plus if it does decide to work, it duplicates it many times and its only with those 3 keys too which is weird

Hello,

To diagnose a keyboard problem, it's essential to test with the onscreen keyboard or a different keyboard via USB or Bluetooth. If the alternative keyboard works, it's certain that the issue is hardware-related. I do believe it is hardware related,because driver or software issue typically won't just affect a few keys, but more like the entre keyboard not being recognized, or it only affects the function keys, like the top rows.

Underneath the keyboard, there is a circuit board with numerous signal tracks. Cracks in the tracks, dust or debris buildup, or corrosion can disrupt the signal flow. Honestly, hardware support is out of the supporting scope of this forum. If the computer is still within warranty, best to contact Huawei instead of trying to take anything apart and void your warranty. Otherwise, if you can clean it with keyboard cleaner such as Dust-off, you can try that, or take it to repair.
