A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
If you've lost access to your Microsoft Authenticator app after changing phones, you can regain access by following these steps:
- Use Alternative Authentication Methods: If you have set up alternative methods for two-factor authentication (2FA), such as SMS or email, try using those to log in.
- Contact Microsoft Support: If you are unable to access your account using alternative methods, you may need to contact Microsoft support for help. If you are the only admin on your account, they can assist you in resetting your Multi-Factor Authentication settings.
- Reset MFA Settings: If you have access to another admin account, that admin can reset your Multi-Factor Authentication settings for you. This will allow you to set up the Authenticator app again on your new phone.
- Create a New Trial Tenant: As a last resort, you can create a new Microsoft 365 trial tenant to submit a support request to Microsoft regarding your locked account.
Make sure to provide any necessary information about your account when contacting support to expedite the process.
