Azure Portal Impossible to Log-in with Authenticator Verification Code

Why does the Azure Portal log-in require an authenticator code that forces 6-characters when the new authenticator application is 8-characters?

In addition, the Portal log-in executes an initial authentication (the correct one) and then leads to this outdated one. Can we please fix this?

The issue you're experiencing with the Azure Portal requiring a 6-character authenticator code while the new authenticator application generates an 8-character code is likely due to the specific implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Azure. The Azure MFA system traditionally uses OATH verification codes, which are typically 6 digits long. If the authenticator app you are using is generating 8-character codes, it may not be compatible with the Azure Portal's requirements.

To resolve this, ensure that you are using the correct version of the Microsoft Authenticator app and that it is configured properly for your Azure account. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance, as they can provide specific guidance based on your account settings and the authentication methods enabled for your organization.
