I lost my iphone which has the microsoft authenticator app installed.

Now I cannot re-gain access to my emails.

The alternative methods just say" an unexpected error occured when we tried to contact you"

This has been the default error for 2 days now? How do I regain access to my account.

Microsoft Support is only an AI-driven machine which refuses to understand anything and ask me to give a serial number for a surface product which I do not own??

Please let me know how to contact a real person at microsoft how can help me to delete the old authenticator app so I can get access to my e-mails and programs which use authenticator as 2FA

If you've lost access to your Microsoft account due to the Microsoft Authenticator app being on your lost iPhone, there are a few steps you can take to regain access:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you mentioned that the AI-driven support isn't helpful, try to reach out to Microsoft Support directly via phone. When you call, ask to speak with a live agent and explain your situation clearly, including that you are unable to access your account due to the lost device.
    2. Use Alternative Recovery Options: If you have set up alternative recovery options (like a backup email or phone number), try using those. If you encounter errors, make sure to provide as much detail as possible to the support agent about the issue you're facing.
    3. Request MFA Reset: If you are the only admin on your account, you may need to request a reset of your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings. This can typically be done through support, and they may require you to verify your identity.
    4. Temporary Account: If you're unable to reach support, consider creating a temporary account (trial tenant) to submit a support ticket. This can sometimes help in getting a quicker response.
    5. Documentation: Be prepared with any relevant information, such as your account details, previous recovery methods, and any error messages you have received.

These steps can help you regain access to your account, but contacting a real person at Microsoft Support is often the most effective way to resolve such issues.
