Have you tried using an incognito/private browsing mode to see if you can successfully add your phone number to your Microsoft account?
- First, connect your device to a different Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot.
- Then, open any web browser and start an incognito/private browsing tab.
- Copy and paste the link below, and sign in with your Microsoft account: https://account.microsoft.com/profile
- Under Account info, go to Phone number > Add your phone number. (This phone number is used to sign in to your Microsoft account, not as a security contact method. If you are trying to add it as a security contact method to send or receive verification codes to confirm your identity, you will need to do this on the Security settings page of your Microsoft account.)
See if you can successfully add your phone number there. Make sure the phone number you are trying to add to your Account info page is not already associated with another Microsoft account.
You can also try a different web browser, clearing your browsing history, cache, and cookies, and, if possible, using a different device.
