Visio 2021 gridlines don't match drawing when printing

Holy crap I just spent a day on a drawing that I was relying on being able to accurate print gridlines for... what joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve tested this behavior on my end using Visio 2021 with the same configuration (Fine grid enabled and Print gridlines turned on), and I’m seeing the same experience. The grid displayed on the drawing page does not exactly match what appears in Print Preview or in the final output.

You could see that some gridlines, particularly finer vertical lines are simplified or missing compared to the on‑screen grid.

My colleague also tested this on her device and she also had the same experience.

To understand the situation better and provide you with the most suitable support, could you confirm the following information: 

• Were you able to print Visio drawing with the same correct gridlines before or this is the first time you tried printing it?

While Microsoft’s documentation does not explicitly state that printed gridlines will differ from the grid shown on the drawing page, the available guidance does describe gridlines as visual aids intended to help with alignment while editing, and it also notes that printing uses a separate rendering process that is influenced by printer and output settings. Based on this, and on consistent reproduction of the behavior during testing, the difference in grid appearance appears to be a current behavior rather than an issue with your file or configuration.
