Decades ago when I was in college I somehow configured my XP Pro computer to allow my limited account to access the D$ share.
I can't figure out how I did it.
I'm going to be needing to use a laptop with a serial port to decommission a legacy device that they are finally replacing, and it would be convenient if I could figure out how to do that for the laptop.
I also had a few other tweaks made to group policies and local security policies on my old XP computer.
Is there any way to import the current settings on my now ancient XP Pro desktop computer into an administrative template that I can put on the laptop? Or a way to export all the changed settings?
I tried using both GPMC and Local Security policy (two different things, and I believe everything in LSP is available in a submenu in GPMC) to "export list" but that only shows the current level of each tree. I'd have to go through the entire tree one by one and export each to a different file.
I tried opening "Administrative Templates" but I see no way to import the current configuration into a new template, I'd have to go through GPMC line by line and try to match everything in a new template.
Which wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't been decades since I did this and have to figure out what needs to be changed. I'd prefer to work smarter, not harder.
So how can I track down exactly what I did to make the C$ shares available on my old XP computer and do it to the laptop?
Yes, it is possible. See me logged in as "Slick" on WIn10 and accessing the C$, and the properties of "Slick" on the XP computer. I'd like to export how I did it as well as make a list of other policies I changed on the XP computer.

It would be nice if I could make similar tweaks to my Win7 and Win10 desktops and Win11 laptop as well, but for now I need to get the old XP laptop working for one last mission (besides being a portable DVD player for watching movies on my days off on my back porch in warmer weather. It's been years since it had any other purpose, but I actually use it for a few weekends a year).
TL;DR? How can I export a list of Group Policies from my old XP computer, with the goal of figuring out how I allowed a limited/standard user access to the C$ and D$ shares?
