If you are experiencing an issue with two OneDrive folders showing the same name in your sidebar, it may be due to a recent update that affected how OneDrive displays folder names for different organizations. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:
- Unlink OneDrive: Unlinking your OneDrive account from your computer can help refresh the folder names. To do this:
- On macOS, select the OneDrive icon in the menu bar, go to More > Preferences, and then on the Account tab, select Unlink this Mac.
- On Windows, select the OneDrive icon in the taskbar, go to Help & Settings > Settings, and on the Account tab, select Unlink this PC.
- Check for Updates: Ensure that your OneDrive app is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs related to folder display issues.
- Re-link OneDrive: After unlinking, go back to your OneDrive site and select Sync to re-link your account. This may help in refreshing the folder names to reflect the correct organization.
- Rename Old Folders: If you have old folders that are still showing the previous names, consider renaming them before syncing again to avoid confusion.
- Wait for Changes: Sometimes, it may take up to 14 days for the changes to reflect automatically after an organization name update in the Microsoft 365 admin center. If the issue persists beyond this period, further troubleshooting may be required.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consult Microsoft support for additional assistance.
