How to charge the battery on a Microsoft Surface Book

My Microsoft Surface Book won't power ON. Other forums where I researched the issue stated that I probably need to recharge the battery. But it doesn't tell me how to do that.

    The small LED on the charger’s connector should glow when it’s supplying power. If the battery was completely drained, let it charge for at least 30 minutes before trying to power it on.

    Check the charger and cable if there is any damage.
