How do I reset Office 2024 pro plus product key to authenticate Outlook

When I upgraded to Windows 11, my copy of Outlook 2010 stopped working. I purchased a copy of Office 2024 pro plus, downloaded the ISO file and followed the instructions to install the package. Outlook worked for a while, but now asks me to activate the product. When I try to enter the new product key, it says the key has already been used.

How to I reset/remove the product key, or do I need to uninstall Office and start again? If the latter, how do I ensure the product key will be reset?

Many thanks

    Hello,

Do not uninstall. The way is to clean the licensing data and reactivate using your Microsoft account or your valid key, with Microsoft's Support and Recovery Assistant.

    Close all Office apps.

Download and run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant on this PC, choose Office, then Activation. Let it remove old or conflicting licenses and follow the prompts to repair activation.

When the tool finishes, open Word, go to File > Account, and select Sign in. Use the same Microsoft account you used when you first redeemed the Office 2024 purchase. Retail Office keys are redeemed once and then tied to your account, so you do not re-enter that key on the device. After you sign in, verify that Product Activated is shown, then start Outlook.

If your purchase is Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 from a volume license and the tool asks for a key, enter the MAK that came with your purchase and complete activation.

If you still see key already used after this, it means the key was already redeemed to a Microsoft account. In that case you must sign in with that exact account and reinstall from your Services and subscriptions page at account.microsoft.com/services rather than typing the key again.

Tell me what Product Information shows under File > Account, including the exact product name and activation state, and I will guide you the rest of the way.
